Our Ecotainer line of products are made from tree fiber carefully grown and harvested according to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative guidelines, so there is no harvesting of old-growth forests. The cup’s inner coating, that keeps it water tight, comes from corn grown in the United States and is manufactured in a greenhouse-gas-neutral process. This line is extremely important because it replaces traditional Styrofoam cups and paper cups lined with petroleum-based plastic that end up in our landfills for 1000+ years.
