Ecotainer Biodegradable Compostable 4 oz Hot Coffee Cup - 50 Pack
These small cups are the perfect size for a shot of espresso... or even a double shot. They are also a great replacment for the wax coated cups often used in bathrooms. They are just big enough for a mouthful of liquid for an adult, perfect to sample beverages. They could also be used as a child's cup.
All of the "hot cups" we sell are truly exceptional products because they replace the dreaded styrofoam! Even if you are using a paper cup... which is absolutely better than styrofoam... that paper cup is lined with a petroleum based lining to keep the cup water tight. Both our Ecotainer products and our Earth Cup products are lined with a corn based lining that is biodegradable. This means the entire cup is both biodegradable and compostable - Woo Hoo!
The objection to these cups is often the price, and understandably so. If you are used to paying for syrofoam cups at literally pennies a cup, then these cups are a big price increase. Let me see if I can lessen the sting a bit. First of all, you have to forget styrofoam even exists or that it is an option - it is that bad for our environment. Secondly, and I believe I have many clients that will agree with this, when you are paying for a more expensive cup, you are more careful about how many you use! Amazing how that works. I don't allow my children to use these for hot chocolate or for cheerios in the car. These are only for the occassions grown ups are traveling with coffee or tea. If you are using these for your office, post a sign that informs employees that your company is doing it's part by stocking these Earth-friendly cups and ask the employees to do their part by using the cups carefully. Encourage employees to use a re-usable coffee cup whenever possible and only use these disposable cups when necessary.
Our Ecotainer line of products are made from tree fiber carefully grown and harvested according to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative guidelines, so there is no harvesting of old-growth forests. The cupís inner coating, that keeps it water tight, comes from corn grown in the United States and is manufactured in a greenhouse-gas-neutral process. This line is extremely important because it replaces traditional Styrofoam cups and paper cups lined with petroleum-based plastic that end up in our landfills for 1000+ years.
